i think it the song was more bassed around the guitar that the song hes just singing a simple cover version
bigrock007 2008-06-04
He play´s his own Luke Signature. I love that guitar.

Great version of a great song - but why didn't Luke at least learn the complete lyrics instead of just repeating the first verse over and over again?

that bassist is such a herb

I prefer the version of Poul Gilbert & Mike Portnoy

Hey! I like Phil Collins! ;-)
But I agree, the vocals were somewhat lacking and the solo seemed rather "going thought the motions" to me too.
Would have given you a thumbs up for this post if you hadn't used swearing. (Yes, I know it's just s**t, but really, don't we have enough of it in the world without resorting to it here too, when there are so many other words we can use?)

....Come to mamma big boy and weep....
(ok that's cheddar cheesey!)
Toto kicked it but it makes me miss the presence of Lennon and Harrison in this world all the more.
McCartney and Clapton need to make something new together with George Martin and son mixing and producing if you catch my drift....
can i get an amen
painman92 2008-05-24
That is one heck of a guitar solo. Man i got chills!
wallsacc 2008-05-22
TOTALLY agree with you dude, well put.
johanneslabusch 2008-05-17
Well, it doesn't necessarily make you a heathen, BUT: Those '80s-keyboards, those superkitschy drums, this over-the-top pathos in his vocals ... all pretty cheesy. I hate the way they overplay the harmony changes, as if they don't trust the music. Also: There is such a thing as overdoing virtuosity. Clapton's playing on the original was basic, heartfelt and therefore more expressive than all this guitar-sturbation.

i think this is the best version i`ve heard but there all good just saying the mad it better
arrieta338 2008-05-11
damn you're so fucking ignorant
senghnimanda 2008-05-09
jeff healeys version kills all other versions
natg900 2008-05-08
I guess it was just a one off thing. Some musos (if they've been around long enough) decided to have a bit of fun and enjoyment by playing other peoples songs.

I'm going to be a heathen and say I like this version better than both Vinnie Moore and (gasp!) George Harrison's (Not to say that they aren't both great in their own right). Every member of Toto is putting a lot of effort into this cover, and it shows - it just has more energy and soul than other versions. I don't expect many others to agree with me, but I don't care.

Everything a gentile horseman destroying the guitar proper, is Steve great Lukater of great
robibm2003 2008-05-05
This sounds like what would happen if Phil Collins arranged what is one of my top five favorite Beatles songs. So I didn't care for it. Lukather's vocals were also for shit and the solo, while technically pretty cool, lacked taste.
Listen to the Vinnie Moore version of this tune. It pisses all over this.

Gay can mean happy, so in reality, you must mean you do like it.

No hay duda que Steve Lukater y Toto son únicos como agrupación, gracias por regalarnos momentos tan gratos y especiales friends.
kingsmen23 2008-05-02
